THE STORY
Tucked away on the corner of 155th St and Frederick Douglass Blvd in the Harlem section of New York City sits the basketball mecca of Rucker Park. Named after Holcombe Rucker, who petitioned to open the court and start a tournament in 1950, making it the centerpiece of the basketball world. The concrete streetball court has featured the messianic play of basketball legends and has testified to the birth of the cross-over dribble by Pee Wee Kirkland, and the double dunk by the goat, Earl Manigault.
