THE STORY
Situated on the south side of Los Angeles rests the neighborhood of Leimert Park. The hip hop and jazz haven has been instrumental in preserving the art and sound of black culture. Leimert Plaza Park is the core of this preservation and hosts many celebrations demonstrating the talents of locals. Bordered by Crenshaw Blvd. Leimert Park is home to hip hop artist Dom Kennedy, who proclaimed, “I say Leimert Park what’s cool” in his song title A Leimert Park Song.
